Why should you get an airbrushed tan to get a sunkissed and sexy glow? Here’s 3 reasons why:
1. SUN DAMAGE IS THE #1 REASON YOUR SKIN AGES QUICKLY!
Did you know that 80% of the damage caused by the sun occurs before the age of 25? That’s why all of us over 30 are trying to convince all those young teens and 20-somethings to beware! All those years of sunbathing at the beach to get a golden glow catches up to you – That’s why airbrushing is THE way to go! Get tanned and bronzed without the harmful effects of the sun.
2. A TAN ACTS AS CAMOUFLAGE FOR CELLULITE AND SKIN IMPERFECTIONS!
Yes, it’s true. Getting an airbrush tan can make you look 10 pounds lighter!! Just as wearing black slims you, a tan makes it harder to see any skin imperfections and blurs the appearance of bumpy cellulite. Also, an airbrush can enhance your abs and create contour as an illusion of body sculpting. With bathing suit season right around the corner – This is reason enough to come in for a tan!
3. DON’T BE FOOLED BY OTHER “SPRAY TANS”. AIRBRUSHING GOES ON EVENLY – AND AS IT FADES, YOU DON’T GET ANY SPLOTCHES!
If it’s not airbrushed by a professional, preferably a makeup artist, you are not getting top notch application. Standing in a machine and letting a machine spray you does not ensure consistency in coverage. All skin shades tend to be uneven, and a makeup artist is familiar with this and can correct it.
I’ve always wanted to get full, beachy waves in my straight, long hair. I enlisted the advice of Celebrity Hair Stylist, Billy Lowe, to show me some red carpet secrets to achieve this look.
Just follow along with this step by step video, and Billy will show you how to get the perfect tousled, sexy head of hair!
Here are a few key tips that I learned from this:
Don’t roll the hair UNDER, twist the hair around the barrel in a spiral motion.
Start the curl from the tOP of the hair, closest to the scalp. Leave the ends for last so that you prevent drying and damaging.
Use 1 inch sections all over.
Don’t pull DOWN on the curl to loosen it, hold it up and bounce it instead.
“How do I get a smoky eye?” That’s probably one of the most frequently asked question I get. I’m going to let you in on a little secret…There’s a big misconception out there. A lot of the time, people use the term “smoky eye” to describe the color they are trying to achieve, like charcoal gray. In reality, the term “smoky eye” refers to a technique, not a color.
You can get a smoky eye in gray, bronze, green, blue, or purple. It’s up to you! Follow the techniques I show you in the beauty tutorial on BeautyBuzz90210, and you can use whatever colors you like!
Here are some basics to follow:
Choose a wash color, a dark color, and a medium pop of color.
The darkest shade should encircle the entire eye, closest to the lash line.
Use the medium shade in the crease to blend the dark shade and the wash color together.
Nowadays, more than ever, men are realizing the need to take care of their skin and hair to keep up with the women in their lives. Cosmetic companies and makeup artists alike are now able to provide men with the products and celebrity beauty tips to look and feel their best. Here are a few basics to consider in your grooming routine:
1. Use a proper skincare regimen which includes a Cleanser, toner and Moisturizer.
2. Groom facial hair and trim any of those pesky chest hairs that pop out along the shirt collar. For more shaving tips, see a beauty tutorial from Celebrity Hair Stylist Billy Lowe on Beauty Buzz 90210.
3. Use blotting papers to soak up any excess oil throughout the day.
4. Trim the brows and tweeze any excess hair, also know as the “unibrow”.
5. You can always use a Tinted Moisturizer if you need a little coverage, it doesn’t look like your wearing any makeup at all!
Remember, the men in your life want to feel good about themselves, just as we do as women. Stay tuned for more beauty tutorials with beauty experts Melissa McNamara and Billy Lowe on http://youtube.com/BeautyBuzz90210
It’s a New Year, and it’s time for a New You. Right? Isn’t that what we all strive for? The truth is that beauty is so much deeper than a resolution that is impossible to keep. It is a reflection of who you really are and the uniqueness you bring to the world.
As a makeup artist for over 19 years, I’ve seen the impact that media has on the everyday woman. The outside world places so much emphasis on our physical beauty. Just open any magazine, and take a look. The way beauty is defined is so limited, and let’s face it, it is completely unrealistic to strive for. It’s no wonder that many of us look in the mirror and feel less than ideal.
Think about what beauty REALLY means to you and how you present that to the world. I believe that if we are truly aware of what makes each and every of one us unique, special and different; your core beauty shines through naturally. Once you have a deeper understanding of your core beauty, then you can work on small improvements with makeup artistry tricks or a new hairstyle.
Here is my challenge to you in 2012. At the end of every day, think of something beautiful about yourself. If you make someone laugh, you are humorous – which is beautiful. If you lift someone’s spirits when they are down, you are compassionate – which is beautiful. Always appreciate the fabulous person you are, and you will always feel beautiful.

How should you wear your hair for an interview, what’s the best makeup for interviews? Aaaaargh! As if job hunting isn’t stressful enough, right?
Putting your best face forward (and your best hair!) will be much easier when you follow these style tips from me (Melissa McNamara) and style guru Billy Lowe.
Below is a video of me and Billy Lowe are on KCal9 afternoon news. Watch and listen to what one interviewer noticed about a job hunter! Don’t let that be you!!
Remember to take into consideration the TYPE of job you are hunting for. If your job is in an extremely creative field, you can be more creative with your hair and your makeup. Take a clue from photos on the company website to see what the culture is like. Err on the side of being a little more conservative in your first meeting – and then adjust as you get to know the people at the company better.

While the makeup trend this year was to match your lipstick to the red carpet… One trend was still ever present for ultimate glam – the smoky eye, of course. Who wore it best? In my opinion, Emma Stone nailed it. She accentuated her beautiful green/gray eyes by using the same shade that rims her iris. It’s a little known secret that you can make your eyes “pop” by examining the outer rim of your iris, and then encircling the eye with the same shade…Try it out for yourself!

Think about the theme of your wedding… Is it a formal, black tie affair? Is it a casual, beach day? This will influence how formal you want your hair and if you want smoky eyes, etc.
What do you love about yourself? Do you like to play up your eyes with smoky eye shadow? Is your skin glowing and radiant? Choose your best feature to focus on.
What color are your bridesmaids wearing? What colors are your flowers? You’ll want your makeup to coordinate, not clash. For example, if your colors are pink and black, you’ll want to wear pink blush and lips… Not peach.
When looking for celebrity makeup as example of what you like, remember, they are wearing A LOT more makeup than it looks like. If you want a natural look, don’t pull up an image of Kim Kardashian! You’re much better off gathering images for each feature. “I like the way J Lo’s skin looks here, I like the way Cameron Diaz did her eyes here, and Read more
Just 5 Steps to perfecting your false eyelash applications!
1. Thicken lashes with mascara.
I always put mascara on BEFORE applying the lashes. I loooove thick, luxurious lashes! Anchor the wand at the base of the lashes and wiggle wand as you are pulling up.
2. Lengthen the lashes with mascara.
Glide the wand across the TOP of the lashes. Spin the wand toward you and pull forward. Wow… are your lashes going to look long and dramatic!!
3. Prepare for the lash application.
Apply either a strip of lashes or individual (tab) lashes. I prefer using medium length Ardell individual lashes. I hate seeing the glue line that strip lashes leave. Reminds me of a newscaster. Just take a look at those ladies reading the evening news, and you’ll see what I mean!
Use professional tweezers (like Tweezerman)… it really does make a world of difference. Remove one lash out of the case, squeezing on about the center of the lash.
Lightly dip the tip of the lash into the glue. Again, I of course have a preference. I don’t use the clear glue made for individuals, it smells horrible and Read more
